AMS-STD-595 is the current US color standard, successor to Federal Standard 595; RAL is the European system used by the Bundeswehr and EU forces. Below are the reference CIE Lab coordinates (D65/2°) we dye to under instrumental control, plus each color's real-world usage. A live example. We dye 40 mm PA load-bearing webbing in grey as a stock production shade — Stout 01579, sitting between #8 Wolf Grey and #18 Gunmetal Grey of this palette in lightness. Its
color passport shows an instrumental ΔE (CIE 2000) comparison against the nearest Pantone, RAL, FS 595 and NCS shades, measured on our spectrophotometer.
